Cloudland Canyon State Park - 07/13/09

This park is in the Northwest corner of the state and it was our second "Canyon Climbers Club" park. All you have to do is hike down to the first waterfall and back up, but we thought we might as well follow the second path and see it too. The falls are not huge, but they are pretty and worth the walk. You can see a few photos here. After we finished the walk, we did something else we hadn't done...disc golf. There is an 18-hole disc (Frisbee) golf course in the park and it only costs $2 per person. It took us around 2 hours, but we weren't very good...spent some of our time hunting ours discs in the woods. There was some poison oak/poison ivy in the woods around the course, so be careful if you decide to try it out.

Once we finished at the park, we drove down to Rome and watched the Class A Rome Braves play the Greensboro Grasshoppers. If you've never been to a minor league baseball game, you are missing a real treat and a great value for your entertainment dollar. We got "Belly Buster" seats for $20 each, which were on the second row and included all the food and soft drinks you could eat. I'm not a big eater, but I had 3 hot dogs, a BBQ sandwich, cole slaw, baked beans, 3 soft drinks, 2 ice creams and a tub of pop corn. What would that have cost at Turner field?
