Magnolia Springs State Park - 07/03/09

This was our second trip to this park and we brought our bicycles this time. All you have to do to meet the requirement for the "Muddy Spokes Club" is the 3-mile Blue Trail, but you might as well get your money's worth and add the 1.2-mile Beaver Trail to your ride. This was supposed to be an easy trail and it was. The trails are beautifully maintained and well marked. There are no real hills, just enough up and down to make it interesting. There isn't much here to trip you up, but I did see some places in the very middle of the trails where several inches of sand had accumulated and that could cause you a problem, but it's also easy to avoid by staying out of the very middle. We saw a 5 or 6-year old boy riding with his dad on the trail and he wasn't having any problems. This was also the only other place where we've seen other bikers (besides the paved trail at Panola Mountain), so make sure to keep your eyes out for other riders here.
