Nahanchi Cho Dan

  1. Begin in Junbi (ready) stance.  Bring both open hands up to about chin level, placing the back of the right open hand against the left palm and drawing your feet together with your knees slightly bent.  Draw the hands in toward your chest and then down towards the floor, palms down, as if to strike an opponent standing in front of you just below the belt.

  2. Step with the left foot to the right, crossing in front of your right foot and folding with your right arm for an open back hand to your right.  Step back out with the right foot into a horse stance as you execute the open back hand, chambering your left fist as you strike.

  3. Execute a left elbow smash into your right palm at a 45 degree angle to your right.

  4. Fold both fists in a ball and socket fashion at your right hip, right hand palm up, left hand palm down.  Look to your left.

  5. Execute a low block with your left hand to your left.

  6. Execute a right hand cross-body punch to the left while chambering the left hand.

  7. Allow your right hand to drift downwards into a low block and your right hand to drift upwards into an outside block as you step over your left foot with the right.  Step back out with the left foot into a horse stance and switch the position of your hands as your foot lands.

  8. Switch the position of your hands again.

  9. Bring the back of your right fist under your left elbow.  Bring the left foot up to your right knee in a sweeping motion.  Step back out into the horse stance while executing a left hand bottom fist to the left with your left arm in an outside block position.

  10. Bring the right foot up to your left knee in a sweeping motion.  Step back out into the horse stance while executing a left hand inverted bottom fist to the right with your left arm in an inside block position.

  11. Fold both fists in a ball and socket fashion at your right hip, right hand palm up, left hand palm down.  Strike to the left with both fists simultaneously, a bottom fist with the left hand and the right hand striking in toward your own sternum.  KIAI.

  12. Open your left hand and fold it back in towards your body, preparing for an open back hand to your left.  Execute the open back hand, chambering your right fist as you strike.  Execute a right elbow smash into your left palm at a 45 degree angle to your left.

  13. Fold both fists in a ball and socket fashion at your left hip, left hand palm up, right hand palm down.  Look to your right.

  14. Execute a low block with your right hand to your right.

  15. Execute a left hand cross-body punch to the right while chambering the right hand.

  16. Allow your left hand to drift downwards into a low block and your right hand to drift upwards into an outside block as you step over your right foot with the left.  Step back out with the right foot into a horse stance and switch the position of your hands as your foot lands.

  17. Switch the position of your hands again.

  18. Bring the back of your left fist under your right elbow.  Bring the right foot up to your left knee in a sweeping motion.  Step back out into the horse stance while executing a right hand bottom fist to the right with your right arm in an outside block position.

  19. Bring the left foot up to your right knee in a sweeping motion.  Step back out into the horse stance while executing a right hand inverted bottom fist to the left with your right arm in an inside block position.

  20. Fold both fists in a ball and socket fashion at your left hip, left hand palm up, right hand palm down.  Strike to the right with both fists simultaneously, a bottom fist with the right hand and the left hand striking in toward your own sternum.  KIAI.

  21. Bring both open hands up to about chin level, placing the back of the right open hand against the left palm and drawing your feet together with your knees slightly bent.  Draw the hands in toward your chest and then down towards the floor, palms down, as if to strike an opponent standing in front of you just below the belt.  Return to Junbi stance.
